SACE Subjects
In year 10, students have the opportunity to gain 30 of their compulsory SACE credits through the successful completion of SACE English Essentials, Essential Mathematics and Personal Learning Plan.
General Description
In order to complete their SACE, students must achieve a C grade or higher in the allocated compulsory subjects.
In year 10, students have the opportunity to gain credits in Personal Learning Plan and in their English and Mathematics courses. If successful in their studies, student can move onto year 11 with 30 SACE credits and compulsory elements of their SACE complete.

General Description
The Personal Learning Plan course is a compulsory subject for SACE completion. The course supports students to make learning and personal goals and effective strategies. While creating their folio, student develop in the seven general capabilities and apply them to real-life situations.

General Description
During year 10 English, students will study topics from the SACE Stage 1 courses that complement and expand upon their Year 10 Australian Curriculum coursework.
This course focuses on creating texts in and for a range of personal, social, cultural, community and/or workplace contexts. Completing this course will benefit students by providing credits towards their compulsory SACE Literacy component in English.
Assessment: Assessment will consist of four assessment tasks with at least one in oral or multimodal form. Student performance will be evaluated against the SACE performance standards. Students will receive 10 SACE points upon successful completion of the course.

Essential Mathematics

General Description
During Year 10 Mathematics, students will study topics from the SACE Stage 1 Essential Mathematics course. This course focuses on branches of mathematics that have clear links to the Year 10 Australian Curriculum.
Assessment will consist of four assessment tasks (100%). Student performance will be evaluated against the SACE performance standards.
Special requirements: It is recommended that all students have an approved scientific calculator (Casio). Some calculators are made available by classroom teachers.
